The Century Foundation recently published an economic analysis of the looming fiscal cliff as a result of the end of the federal Stabilization Grants this September.
Utah is one of only six states that is predicted to have the number of licensed programs possibly be cut by half or more, with an estimated 663 childcare programs estimated to close here.
In recognition of this critical issue, Park City Municipal has included $1 million in its 2024 budget to shore up the early care and education eco-system and address the affordability gap. This is a great start, but will not solve this problem alone. We need all levels of government, businesses, and philanthropy to work together to address this critical need in our community.
